Our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has said that “young voices must be part of our decision making process” and that’s why I am launching a new initiative to bring youth together from across the Bay of Quinte to engage with the federal political process.
I want to hear from youth in the community and am inviting anyone from the ages of 15 to 24 years old to apply to the Bay of Quinte Youth Council. As a part of the Liberal Government’s commitment to meaningful youth engagement in Canada’s government, we have already received the first wave of applications for the Prime Minister’s Youth Council, and now we are making it easier for young Canadians to have their say closer to home.
“People have often said that our youth are disengaged from the political system. I say that it is politicians that have failed to engage youth. I am proud to have the opportunity to reverse this trend and work with youth in our community to reinvigorate an interest in politics and inspire the next generation of Canadian leaders.”Neil R.
