THE CONSTITUENCY YOUTH COUNCIL INVITATION TO YOUNG CANADIANS TO APPLY
August 29, 2017– Bay of Quinte. Neil Ellis, Member of Parliament for the riding of the Bay of Quinte, invites youth from the region between the ages of 15 to 24 to apply to the new Bay of Quinte Constituency Youth Council (CYC). Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his caucus have focused on engaging youth and ensuring that their voices are heard.
Following the success of last year’s Constituency Youth Council, MP Neil Ellis is excited to launch the 2017/2018 CYC. This council consists of a group of youth from the Bay of Quinte riding. This council will meet once every 1 to 2 months to discuss what matters most to them. During this time, localized projects will be organized to mobilize the community and make a positive impact.
This is a nonpartisan council that will focus on bringing a diverse set of perspectives to the conversation. The Member of Parliament will have the opportunity to hear fresh new perspectives and ideas, and participants will be able to better understand the federal political process and gain valuable leadership experience.
To apply: The application form is available at 100 Station Street, and through the Facebook page, or official website. Applicants can find out who their MP is by checking with their school guidance counsellor. Applications are due by midnight on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
“I’m eager to meet the new council members from the Bay of Quinte! I look forward to working together, with them, to make the Bay of Quinte a more dynamic and inclusive community.”- MP Neil Ellis, Federal Liberal MP for Bay of Quinte
